Jacques Murphy is the founder and author of Product Management Challenges. He has over nineteen years of experience in the software industry and eight years as a product manager. He uses his product management experience and skills to develop a tailored and comprehensive approach that improves the competitive position of a product.

Mr. Murphy writes Product Management Challenges, launched in 2002 as an email newsletter and now a web site at www.ProductManagementChallenges.com. Since then, he has written over 100 articles which provide a unique and rich source of real-world tips and advice about product management to companies that develop software.

Previously, Jacques was Director of Product Management at SunGard Availability Services for the SunGard® Paragon™ product. Paragon is software that helps organizations become more resilient in the face of disruptions and threats to their operations. Prior to SunGard, Mr. Murphy held product management positions at Entigo Corporation and SEDONA Corporation. He worked for two years as an independent consultant and over five years at Astea International, Inc.

Mr. Murphy holds a B.A. from Oberlin College with an Advanced Diploma in French Business Studies from La Sorbonne in Paris, France. He has studied and worked in the United States, France, Taiwan, and China.
